Case Study – Nearly 1 in 5 candidates updated their profile
The candidate profile and/or resume information is one of the life lines for a job board as employers are ultimately looking to connect with qualified candidates. With this understanding, here at JOBartO we noticed an issue in the job board market that many of the niche job boards complete little to no on-going marketing initiatives to boost the candidate data on the job board. We believe this is mostly contributed to the lack of technological capabilities within the job board software they are using.
As such, we recently completed a case study with a client by deploying a personalized email campaign to the entire candidate database with specific recommendations for the candidate to fill out 100% of their profile. Here is a breakdown of the campaign;
- Open Rate: 42.27%
- Click through rate: 22.22%
- Percentage of candidate that updated their profile: 17.65%
To provide a point of reference, our believe is that data is your strongest asset as a niche job board site and the better you understand your candidates and their needs, then easier to connect the employers.
Therefore, to easily allow our clients the ability to send such personalized campaigns directly from the job board administrative section, we built in registration sections and weighted profile completeness percentage.
During the registration process, the job board system asks the candidates a series of questions such as; location, resume, picture, job preferences, skills, education, work experience, certificates/licenses, references, cover letters, apply for a job and register for job alerts. Each section has an assigned weight with all completed sections providing the user with a 100% complete account. If the user does not fill out any or all sections, the system will provide those recommendations to the candidate via the personalized email.
By using personalization tags, the email system deploys each email with specific recommendations to the individual candidate and directs them back to their profile. As seen by the results, the email campaign was highly successful and an important aspect in their monthly marketing initiatives.
